Implant dentistry is a specialty of dentistry that focuses on the planning, placement and maintenance of dental implants.
Dental implants are just placing a "screw" titanium into bone in the space formerly occupied by a natural tooth, and this screw a prosthesis is placed, is a procedure in which it occurs osseointegration of the implant with the bone tissue to firm the new tooth.
This procedure is performed under local anesthesia. Occasionally the time of tooth extraction to place the implant, is used and thus avoid having to perform a second operation.
These are called "immediate implants" and involve a lot of convenience and speed when performing these treatments.
Your Implantologist or periodontist will inform you accordingly and follow the procedure.
